> Birdwatching & Wildlife
Being the first landfall after the Atlantic we can have some very interesting winged visitors to our shores but aside from these occasional foreign invaders the Beara is very rich in native bird life, and even if you are not a serious ‘twitcher’ we would always recommend carrying the binoculars with you at all times.
> Beara Golfing
Wherever you are in Ireland you are never far from a golf Course and we are no exception. Our three nearest courses all offer first class golfing facilities along with wonderful views of Bantry Bay and excellent value. Both Berehaven GC and Glengarriff GC are nine hole courses which offer a challenge many longer courses do not. The Christy O’Coonor designed 18 hole Bantry GC is a delight to play andall these courses offer wonderful views of Bantry Bay and the surrounding mountains.
> Walking in the Beara Peninsula
Whether an experienced walker or a novice there is something for everybody to enjoy on the Beara Peninsula. There are several recognised loop walks which vary in both terrain and duration.
> Sailing
The sheltered waters of Adrigole Bay are ideal for all kinds of water sports and the acclaimed West Cork Sailing Centre can offer a fun day on the water in a kayak or longer courses to learn and improve on your sailing skills. Experienced and qualified instructors ensure a great learning experience along with absolute safety.
> Cycling
As with walking the Beara cycle way uses many of the unfrequented lanes around the Beara Peninsula and offer a peaceful and leisurely way of seeing the sights. Bring your own bike or we can arrange for you to hire one here for either the day or longer.
